Yes. You heard that right! 🤦🏽♀️ CapCut has been banned in the United States!
Many of us knew about the Tik Tok ban… but did you know that Tik Tok and CapCut have the same parent company named “ByteDance?” Well, because ByteDance didn’t sell to an American company, their products and services are now banned in the US. We will talk more about this at Content’s on High Rise. We are actually experiencing all of this in real time!
FULL TRANSPARENCY - and as was previously stated in my promo content - I had planned on teaching my editing process using the now banned CapCut application. And again, as of tonight, the features and services of CapCut are no longer available to US residents. Imagine how interesting this has made everything for me! 😆 HOWEVER, although I’ve viewed CapCut as king for the past year, I am enjoying revisiting the other editing apps I’ve used in the past. Many of them have some great updates. I’m also learning new editing apps to see which ones will be the best fit for many of your niches.
While all of my presentation material was completed and printed out prior to the announcement of the CapCut ban, I am actually anticipating the conversations we’re going to have. I’ll also be happy to provide alternative editing options to you all in Monday’s editing experience.
If the CapCut ban in the US is never lifted, we will still be alright! In my mind, there’s always a workaround; it just has to be found- and I plan on doing just that! That’s exactly where I come in. I’m a person who loves a challenge.
What a start to the year! 😆
