The best thing you can do to expedite your turn around time when hiring a content creator is have everything ready to send for the creator to properly compose your video in a timely manner. For me, this also promotes time efficiency, as I currently charge by the hour and plan my time accordingly.
What is everything?
Well, it depends.
If you plan on having your content creator add a voiceover to your video, be sure you have that ready for them in no more than two days time. This assists with the swiftness of the turnaround time, prevents confusion and the back and forth. Not to mention, it assists the creator with their organization. When they’re in their mode of creating, they have all of the necessary clips and photos at the forefront of the queue. The longer they have to wait for any missing pieces, the more they have to reorganize and shuffle their prioritized pieces. In other words, it makes their job more difficult and adds time they weren’t expecting to add.
If there’s something you really want to make sure stands out in your video, or even words you’d like added, please let your creator know ahead of time. This allows them to add these details in their flow of creating, not to mention, in the process of creating they may even get more ideas since they’re working it into the video. If it’s an after thought, and the reel is nearly done, the ideas that could’ve come about during the process may be missed out on.
Familiarize yourself with Shared Albums on your iPhone or even Google Drive if you do not have an iPhone. These programs are beneficial for everyone as they allow you to have unlimited space for photos and videos on your device. I create albums for my clients so that they have unlimited raw content to use for posts in the future at their discretion. This can be anywhere from 50 to 200 pieces of media. Some people do not have enough storage on their phones to receive so much data so those apps really help.
If anything else comes to mind, I’ll make a part two! If you have any questions feel free to ask!!
